Choosing a Memorial

What types of memorials do you offer?

We offer flat grave markers, bevel markers, slant headstones, upright headstones, companion memorials, and other personalized styles. The current catalog shows the available sizes and configurations for each memorial.

How do I know which size is right?

Ask your cemetery to confirm the permitted dimensions, material, finish, and design before you order. Requirements vary by cemetery and even by section, so written approval is the safest way to prevent delays or added costs.

Read the cemetery and installation policy
Can you create a custom size?

Yes. If your cemetery requires a size or style that is not shown in the catalog, our Memorial Specialists can prepare a custom quote based on its specifications.

How are pricing and payment handled?

Current prices are shown with each available memorial. Custom dimensions or special requests receive a separate quote, and the payment methods available for your order are shown securely during checkout before you complete the purchase.

2

Design & Proof

Can I see a proof before my memorial is made?

Yes. After your order is placed, our design team emails you a detailed layout proof showing the engraving, placement, and dimensions. Production does not begin until you approve the proof by email.

What can be customized?

Your memorial can include names, dates, an epitaph, portraits, and decorative or meaningful artwork. The design team translates your choices into the production proof for your review.

What kind of photo should I provide?

Send the clearest, highest-resolution image you have. A sharp, well-lit photo at 300 DPI or higher gives the design team the best source for preparing an engraved portrait.

Can I request changes to my proof?

Yes. Reply to the proof email with your requested revisions and the design team will send an updated draft. Nothing moves into production until you are satisfied and approve the final layout.

3

Cemetery Requirements

What should I confirm with my cemetery?

Confirm the allowed size, thickness, material, finish, design restrictions, required paperwork, permits, fees, foundation requirements, and who will install the memorial. Ask for the requirements in writing whenever possible.

Who is responsible for cemetery approval and fees?

The customer is responsible for confirming cemetery acceptance, obtaining any required approval, and paying cemetery or permit fees before ordering and before approving the layout proof.

Does Citizen Memorials provide installation?

No. Citizen Memorials does not sell, arrange, or provide installation. Placement must be handled directly with your cemetery or a local installer approved by the cemetery.

Can my cemetery contact Citizen Memorials?

Yes. We respond to cemeteries and funeral homes by email or fax so the information remains clear and documented. We do not place calls to cemeteries or coordinate installers.

4

Shipping & Delivery

When will my memorial ship?

Most orders ship within four weeks after both payment and approval of the emailed layout proof. Production and delivery dates are not guaranteed, and rush processing may be available for an additional fee.

Where can my memorial be delivered?

We can ship worldwide, and many families choose delivery to their local cemetery. Shipping is included within the contiguous 48 U.S. states; larger memorials may travel by commercial freight.

How is my memorial protected during delivery?

Memorials are boxed or crated for protection, documented with a pre-shipment photo, and shipped with tracking. Every shipment is insured against transit damage.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Inspect the memorial before signing the delivery receipt and note any damage directly on that receipt. Report damage to Citizen Memorials within 24 hours so the replacement and RMA process can begin.

Read the return and damage policy
What does the lifetime guarantee cover?

The lifetime guarantee covers natural defects such as cracks, discoloration, and flakes, along with the memorial’s natural color, shape, finish, and qualifying engraving. It does not cover vandalism, theft, installation, maintenance, vases, ceramic photos, or paint.

Read the lifetime guarantee
Can I cancel or return a custom memorial?

Custom orders may be cancelled within three business days, subject to the policy’s 10% cancellation fee; rush orders cannot be cancelled. Custom memorials are otherwise final sale except for shipment damage or a production error that differs from the approved proof.
